We are currently seeking a Costing Engineer to join our Asia Production Team based in Ninh Binh, Vietnam. This role reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing and serves as a pivotal leader in managing our global footwear costing strategies.
Key outcomes
- Lead the costing team in Vietnam to manage global footwear costing and identify long-term and short-term savings to maximize margins.
- Collaborate with US-based costing and finance teams to facilitate informed decision-making throughout the product creation process.
- Establish and maintain a standardized, fact-based costing framework and operating procedures for all products.
- Partner with Asia product development, planning, and manufacturing teams to analyze Bills of Labor and Bills of Materials for optimized product costing.
- Manage all costing functions within our PLM system, ensuring data is accurate and updated daily.
- Drive continuous improvement by benchmarking overhead costs, managing factory development charges, and identifying volume discount opportunities.
- Build strong, transparent partnerships with T1 and T2 suppliers to capture value through innovation and improved manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
- Two to five years of professional experience within a premium footwear brand.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Technical expertise regarding product construction and manufacturing methods.
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel.
- Proven ability to negotiate pricing with integrity and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
- A passion for sustainability and a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, business, or an equivalent combination of industry experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with PLM systems, such as Centric.
- Strong background in project management and leadership.
- Understanding of the material development process.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is considered a significant bonus.
