What is this role?

We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join us on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates located anywhere. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our engineering team, focusing on the development, implementation, and maintenance of controls software libraries, PLC hardware design, and comprehensive documentation for our battery energy storage projects.

What will you do?

• Design and maintain a universal, scalable PLC platform that integrates effectively with various project configurations and equipment.
• Develop and manage control libraries for energy storage systems, ensuring the seamless integration of new battery and PCS configurations.
• Create and update essential design documentation, including system requirements, design standards, FMEA reports, and operations manuals.

What makes you a great fit?

To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, along with at least 5 years of experience in power systems or technical PLC-based control software. You are comfortable working in a collaborative, agile environment and possess the following qualifications:

• Strong technical background in structured programming, network security, and industrial communication protocols such as MODBUS, DNP, ICCP, and OPC.
• Experience with design tools like Microsoft Visio and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• A solid understanding of medium and low voltage distribution, protection systems, and advanced networking topology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a self-motivated approach to problem-solving.
• Experience with GE, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, or SEL PLC products is considered a plus.
