At Parallel Domain we create a simulated testing platform that helps teams building autonomous vehicles and delivery drones validate their AI safely and efficiently before real-world deployment.
Responsibilities
- Establish best practices for creating and using synthetic data in perception systems.
- Conduct original research in 3D computer vision, generative models for image and scene generation, style transfer, image inpainting, neural rendering, or related topics.
- Develop, test, and integrate advanced computer-vision algorithms into our platform.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal teams and customers.
- Collaborate daily with teammates to share progress, ideas, and challenges.
Must-haves
- Currently pursuing a PhD in computer science or a closely related field at a leading university, with a record of peer-reviewed publications.
- Hands-on experience building machine-learning models for computer-vision tasks.
- Published research in at least one of the following areas: 3D computer vision and scene reconstruction, generative modeling (GANs, diffusion models, 3D Gaussian Splatting), image and scene synthesis, semantic segmentation, automated scene understanding, domain adaptation, or sim-to-real transfer.
- Proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with autonomous-vehicle simulation, synthetic-data generation, or multi-modal sensor data such as cameras and LiDAR.
- Familiarity with NeRF, 3D Gaussian Splatting, or point-cloud processing.
- Prior work at a fast-growing startup or similarly dynamic team.
Benefits
- Relocation assistance.
- Learning and development stipend.
- Equipment budget to optimize your workspace.
