We are Fuse, and we are working to accelerate the global transition to fusion energy. Our team has developed TITAN, an Impedance Matched Marx Generator that stands as the most powerful and efficient machine of its kind. We have also successfully built and licensed two novel pulsed power generators, known as Magical Unicorn and FAETON I. As an early-stage company, we are looking for someone who is ready to take full ownership of their objectives and work with intensity to help us change the world. This is a demanding role for those who are driven to make a significant impact.
What you'll be doing
- You will conduct simulations of MagLIF experiments by utilizing PIC and MHD codes to study high-energy-density physics.
- You will develop and optimize these computational codes to enhance both their accuracy and their overall performance.
- You will analyze complex simulation data to provide meaningful insights and collaborate closely with our experimentalists to design and interpret new experiments.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Ph.D. in physics, computational science, or a closely related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in high-energy-density physics, with a specific focus on magnetohydrodynamics and particle-in-cell simulations.
- 5 or more years of experience working with high-performance computing and parallel programming.
- Strong communication skills and a proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- A solid record of publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Fluency in English.
- The ability and willingness to travel between coasts and work extended hours or weekends as the project requires.
- Because we work with technology subject to U.S. export regulations, you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by law.
What you'll get
Joining our team means you will be contributing to cutting-edge research in inertial confinement fusion alongside a dynamic group of engineers and scientists. We are an equal opportunity employer that values merit and competence above all else.
