What you bring
We are looking for a Senior Computational Mechanics Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work closely with our software developers to build advanced structural analysis tools that utilize Finite Element Method and macro-elements to solve complex solid mechanics problems. Your work will be based in Modena, Italy, and will involve the following core responsibilities:
- Developing and refining functional prototypes for our structural analysis software.
- Providing expert structural insights and feedback to guide our technical development.
- Applying your expertise in Python and C++ to implement robust, high-performance engineering solutions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in engineering, such as structural, aerospace, mechanical, or naval disciplines. We value candidates who can bridge the gap between theoretical research and practical software implementation, specifically regarding nonlinear solid mechanics solvers. You should be comfortable reading complex research papers and translating them into working code. Proficiency in English is essential for our global team. We also highly value soft skills, including the ability to communicate across diverse cultures, a collaborative spirit, and a self-motivated, decisive approach to problem-solving. While not required, a PhD in numerical methods or experience with masonry macro-models is considered a significant advantage.
