At Bouldering Project, our mission is to build the most inclusive and inspiring spaces for climbing, movement, and human connection. We are deeply committed to the people we serve and are constantly driven by the pursuit of improvement. By creating joyful environments for fitness, yoga, and climbing, we provide pathways for our members to challenge themselves while fostering a lifestyle rooted in health, friendship, and shared purpose.
The role
We are looking for a Community Marketing Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a mid-level, on-site position based in the United States. You will serve as a vital connector, bridging the gap between our in-gym experiences and our members, staff, and local industry partners. If you are a natural communicator who thrives on building relationships and creating high-quality community experiences, we would love to meet you. Please note that there is a potential opportunity for full-time hours exceeding 30 hours per week, which would include additional benefits, provided you are qualified and available to take on an additional role at a different pay rate.
Core responsibilities
- Lead grassroots marketing initiatives to integrate our programs into the local community, focusing on driving new customer acquisition, membership conversion, and long-term retention.
- Collaborate with our leadership and marketing teams to develop and execute a calendar of workshops, specialty programs, partnerships, and high-profile events that foster deep customer engagement.
- Act as the primary voice for our community and staff by managing local communications, supporting digital asset creation, and maintaining our local website to ensure all announcements and event details are current.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong background in marketing and community engagement. We value candidates who bring the following qualifications:
- Proven success in brand marketing, with a preference for those who have experience managing grassroots events in the Seattle area.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple parallel projects effectively.
- A collaborative, self-motivated spirit and a humble approach to teamwork, paired with the willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills, including experience with social media management and basic photography.
- A contagious personality and a genuine passion for connecting with people, speaking to groups, and acting as an ambassador for our brand.
Compensation and benefits
We believe that diverse perspectives and identities strengthen our community and unlock our collective potential. We are an equal opportunity employer and strive to create a workplace that reflects these values. While this position is part-time, we offer a dynamic work environment where you can make a tangible impact on our community.
How to apply
If you are ready to help us grow our community and share the joy of movement, we encourage you to submit your application. We look forward to learning more about your experience and how your unique skills can contribute to the mission of Bouldering Project.
