At Tonic, we are building a vibrant home for musicians to share their creative process and celebrate every milestone of their artistic journey. Our mission is to make music practice an engaging, social experience by providing a space where artists can workshop new material and perform for one another. We are a venture-backed startup supported by industry leaders and investors from firms like Accel, a16z, and Sequoia, as well as visionaries like the cofounders of YouTube and Twitch. Our team is diverse, distributed, and deeply committed to fostering an inclusive culture where everyone feels they belong. We are looking for people who are kind, curious, and passionate about the human element that technology can amplify.
About the Role
We are searching for a Senior Community Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will act as the public face of our community, ensuring that every member feels welcomed and valued. You will bridge the gap between our users and our internal product team, helping us refine our platform while maintaining a healthy, supportive environment for musicians of all backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute creative initiatives to foster community engagement and ensure the long-term health of our platform.
- Manage our community guidelines and collaborate with community captains to uphold our culture, while addressing user concerns across platforms like Discord, social media, and app reviews.
- Oversee the quality assurance process for new product releases and serve as the primary voice of the user by relaying feedback directly to our product development team.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a blend of leadership, empathy, and technical awareness. We value candidates who have experience in high-growth startups or consumer-facing social applications. You should be a natural communicator who is comfortable managing public relations and social media channels. We look for individuals who are self-reflective, eager to learn, and capable of leading by example. While not required, a personal interest in learning or playing a musical instrument is a significant plus.
Location
This is an on-site position based in the United States.
Compensation and Benefits
We are dedicated to supporting our team members as they grow alongside our company. We encourage continuous learning and provide opportunities to attend workshops and events to further develop your skills as a professional in community management.
