We are looking for a talented, collaborative, and highly motivated Communications and Public Relations Manager to join our team in Ontario, Canada, and help us share our story with the world.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, year-round communications and public relations strategy that aligns with our brand mission and business priorities.
- Manage our press outreach and media relationships by identifying target publications, crafting compelling pitches, and preparing our spokespeople for interviews and media appearances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to act as a brand steward, ensuring that our messaging remains consistent and impactful across all internal and external channels.
What you'll bring
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in communications and a passion for our mission. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or journalism.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marketing, public relations, or journalism.
- Proven success in executing PR initiatives that build brand awareness and generate earned media impressions.
- Strong existing relationships with journalists and media outlets.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt your copy for various platforms and audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects independently while working effectively within a team.
- A genuine love for pets and a desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization.
