Our team is entirely remote and spans more than 50 countries, creating a collaborative and diverse environment where every voice matters. We are currently looking for a talented engineer to help us continue our work in the open source community.

What is this role?

We are seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join our Open Source Software Development team. This is a full-time, remote position, and we are ideally looking for a candidate based in South America. You will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our core database products while working from your home office.

What will you do?

Design and implement new features while diagnosing and resolving defects in Percona Server for MySQL, Percona XtraBackup, Percona XtraDB Cluster, Oracle MySQL, and MariaDB.
Develop robust test cases to support our continuous integration deployment processes.
Mentor other team members, participate in design reviews, and contribute to the broader open source community through blogging and evangelizing our software.

What makes you a great fit?

To be successful in this role, you should have at least five years of experience in C/C++ development and a strong grasp of object-oriented design. You must be fluent in English and comfortable working in a distributed, asynchronous environment. Key requirements include:

A solid understanding of SQL databases, particularly MySQL, and DBMS internal algorithms like B-tree indexing and crash recovery.
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python and BASH, as well as experience with Perl.
Experience with high-concurrency threading models, distributed network communication, and source code management tools like Git.
A deep understanding of compression and encryption techniques.
