CloudSecure Intern at Illumio

At Illumio, we are the pioneers and market leaders in Zero Trust segmentation. Our mission is to prevent cyber breaches from turning into disasters by protecting critical applications and digital assets. We provide proven technology that helps organizations see risk, isolate attacks, and secure data across cloud-native apps, data centers, and endpoints. We are looking for talented individuals to join our 12-week internship program, starting on either May 27, 2025, or June 23, 2025, in Sunnyvale, California. This is a hybrid role requiring you to be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Key outcomes

• Performance Optimization: You will work on enhancing map performance by shifting data computations from the user interface to the backend. Your goal will be to reduce map load times by at least 40 percent while helping our platform scale to handle larger datasets.
• Cloud Automation: You will design and publish an Azure application that automates the Cloud Secure onboarding process. This project involves using Azure SDKs and APIs to replace manual scripts with a one-click solution, simplifying adoption for our enterprise customers.
• Engineering Collaboration: As an active member of an engineering scrum team, you will participate in Agile development, contribute to core product features, and present your final project to our engineering and product organizations.

Requirements

• You must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, or a related field, with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025 or Spring 2026.
• Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Programming experience in Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• A solid understanding of front-end and back-end integration, particularly regarding systems that manage large datasets.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• A genuine passion for building fast, scalable systems and improving user experiences.

Compensation

The compensation for this internship is $47 USD per hour. Please note that this figure is a guideline and final offers are determined by factors such as education, experience, and internal equity.
