Role at a glance
We are looking for a CloudOps Engineer III to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a mid-level position open to candidates based in South Africa. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our cloud infrastructure, driving modernization efforts, and ensuring our systems remain secure, compliant, and cost-effective.
Your impact
- Lead the provisioning and maintenance of cloud infrastructure by utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems through standardized, automated infrastructure practices.
- Monitor cloud services to ensure operational excellence, responding to incidents and enforcing rigorous security and compliance policies.
What you'll need
We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who communicates effectively and adapts quickly to new challenges. You should be comfortable working independently and possess the following technical background:
- Proven AWS Cloud expertise, including hands-on experience with the AWS CLI, VPC, EC2, ECR, ECS, AutoScaling, and CodeDeploy.
- One to three years of experience with Terraform and GitHub, specifically regarding CI/CD workflows and GitHub Actions.
- Strong Linux administration skills, particularly with Ubuntu and Amazon Linux.
- Experience with containerization technologies and administering relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- A solid understanding of cloud security best practices.
- Fluency in English.
