The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Services Software Engineer to join our growing team in Switzerland. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will play a vital part in our engineering efforts. You will be responsible for designing and implementing features from their initial inception all the way through to release. By balancing the creation of new user-facing tools with the ongoing work of reducing technical debt, you will help ensure our systems remain scalable and robust. You will be an essential contributor to our agile environment, helping to champion our team processes and supporting your colleagues to ensure our collective success.
A day in the life
- You will design and build medium to large scale features while actively identifying and reducing technical debt within our systems.
- You will collaborate closely with your teammates to support their goals, ensuring that everyone understands the trade-offs and benefits of our development processes.
- You will take full ownership of user-facing features, guiding them through the entire development lifecycle while exploring new technologies to solve complex problems.
Who you are
You are a seasoned engineer who thrives in fast-paced, agile settings. You possess a deep understanding of software design, algorithms, and data structures. You have a proven ability to build scalable distributed systems and are comfortable working within environments that require strict confidentiality and data privacy.
Your background should include:
- Proficiency in widely used programming languages such as Golang, Ruby, or Python.
- Experience developing infrastructure and services within cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
- Practical experience working with databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
- Familiarity with automated testing methodologies, such as TDD or BDD, which is considered a significant plus.
- A strong command of the English language.
