At Policy Expert, we are on a mission to transform the insurance industry through proprietary technology and data-driven insights. Since our founding in 2011, we have grown rapidly to serve over 1.5 million customers across home, motor, and pet insurance. We are proud to have been ranked the UK’s number one home insurer by Review Centre for over a decade. As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will join our DevSecOps team to help us build secure platforms, automate security checks, and foster a culture of shared responsibility across our organization.
What you'll be doing
- You will lead cloud security initiatives across AWS and GCP, ensuring our infrastructure remains robust, compliant, and protected against evolving threats.
- You will manage our security tooling, including configuring CNAPP solutions and integrating automated vulnerability scanning directly into our CI/CD pipelines.
- You will collaborate closely with platform and development teams to perform threat modeling, conduct security reviews, and maintain compliance standards like ISO 27001 and GDPR.
What you'll bring
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in cloud security and a passion for building secure, scalable systems. We are looking for the following:
- Proven experience delivering meaningful security improvements within a cloud-native environment.
- Deep proficiency with AWS and GCP security services, such as GuardDuty, Security Command Center, and various cloud-native protection platforms.
- A solid understanding of infrastructure as code, vulnerability management, and threat modeling best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, as you will be working across multiple technical teams to promote a security-first culture.
- Bonus points if you have experience as a platform engineer or hold certifications like CISSP, CCSP, or cloud-specific security credentials.
What you'll get
This role is based in our London office, where you will enjoy a 50/50 hybrid work arrangement. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional growth and personal well-being:

- Private medical and dental insurance.
- An annual learning budget of £1,000 plus dedicated study leave.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave policies.
- Commuter benefits, including a travel season ticket loan.
- Access to our employee assistance and wellness programs.
- Access to exclusive London O2 events and a private lounge.
