We are currently experiencing significant growth and are looking for a skilled Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team in Toronto, Canada, on a hybrid basis. Key outcomes

• Manage and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for middleware technologies, including Kafka, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, and Postgres databases.
• Ensure the high availability and performance of our cloud services hosted on Kubernetes.
• Proactively monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions to optimize our cloud environment.
• Collaborate with developers and engineering teams to review incidents, perform root cause analysis, and improve overall service reliability.
• Provide 24/7 incident management support to address production issues and middleware notifications.
• Partner with scrum teams to provide technical expertise during the deployment of new services.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Cloud Operations, with a strong focus on infrastructure and middleware like databases, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
• Hands-on experience with container-based architectures, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to work within a 24/7 production environment.
• Strong background in Linux system administration and troubleshooting complex systems.
• Proficiency in working with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Solid knowledge and practical experience with networking technologies.
