At Chalk, we have built a platform from the ground up to redefine how developers integrate features and deliver real-time machine learning and generative AI. We are looking for our first Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on-site, where you will have the autonomy to solve complex problems in distributed systems and help shape the future of our infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Develop code to automate the provisioning and orchestration of the infrastructure that powers our technology for customers.
- Build and maintain a platform for managing our hosted services as well as deployments within customer-owned AWS and GCP environments.
- Partner closely with our internal Engineering and Sales teams to drive product success.
- Participate in the hiring process to help scale our growing engineering organization.
Must-haves
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on infrastructure automation.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Terraform.
- Hands-on experience working with AWS or GCP cloud environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across both technical and non-technical teams.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with data products or machine learning services.
- Background in setting up and managing hosted cloud resources for multiple organizations.
- Knowledge of MLOps or machine learning infrastructure.
- Prior experience working directly with sales teams and customers.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $220,000, supplemented by early team member equity.
