Our work ensures that power is dispatched reliably from hundreds of generating units throughout the state. We are looking for dedicated professionals to help us maintain the infrastructure that keeps the lights on for millions of people.
The role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Cloud Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this position, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure. You will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing time between our office in Rensselaer, New York, and remote work to foster collaboration and innovation.
Core responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable cloud architectures, including managing virtual networks, compute resources, and storage solutions.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployments within Kubernetes environments.
- Ensure the security and compliance of our cloud infrastructure by implementing robust access controls, encryption, and proactive monitoring.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in cloud computing and a passion for infrastructure automation. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- Three to five years of hands-on experience with cloud-based infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services.
- Strong scripting skills in Python or shell scripting.
- A solid understanding of CI/CD principles and version control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Compensation and benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $78,500 to $131,000 USD. Beyond compensation, we provide a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional growth and well-being. This role also features a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a flexible balance between onsite collaboration and remote work.
