About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer for a Full Time position. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing cloud infrastructure, developing AI and machine learning capabilities, and ensuring the security and operational efficiency of our cloud platforms. You will work directly with stakeholders to prioritize technical efforts and deliver high-value services that align with the mission of NOAA Fisheries.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage a centralized platform to maintain visibility and control over the entire cloud environment.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code to automate resource deployment while designing scalable cloud architecture to support AI and machine learning development.
- Develop and deploy cloud-based AI models, manage data ingestion pipelines, and establish robust data governance frameworks to ensure long-term compliance and performance.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, and AI/ML development.
- Professional or Associate level certification from a major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience working within government agencies or highly regulated environments.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Location
This position is Remote and can be performed from anywhere.
