Welcome to Underdog. We are proud to be the fastest-growing sports gaming company in history. Since our founding in 2020, we have developed four of the most popular fantasy sports games and successfully launched our own proprietary Underdog Sportsbook. We are unique in the industry because we built our sportsbook on our own custom technology, which gives us the freedom to create truly innovative experiences for our users. We are currently operating in the fastest-growing consumer sector in the United States, and we have secured significant backing from prominent investors like Mark Cuban, Kevin Durant, BlackRock, and SV Angel. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a talented Cloud Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis.
Key outcomes
- Elevate our infrastructure by enhancing the scalability and reliability of our backend systems.
- Manage the growth and availability of our AWS environment by writing and reviewing code with Terraform and Helm.
- Oversee the monitoring and daily operations of our cloud environments.
- Collaborate directly with our Fantasy, Sportsbook, and Data development teams to manage and scale infrastructure while resolving technical issues.
- Optimize application scaling to guarantee a seamless experience for our users.
- Engage in incident response, conduct postmortems, and participate in on-call rotations to resolve production issues and prevent future occurrences.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in cloud engineering.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Ruby, or BASH.
- Practical knowledge of IaC principles and tools like GitHub Actions.
- Experience using monitoring and logging platforms such as Datadog.
- A background in participating in on-call rotations for production systems.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset when working alongside product and engineering teams.
- Fluency in English.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on your experience, and includes equity. We are always open to discussing higher compensation if your skills and experience are exceptional. In addition to your salary, you will enjoy the flexibility of remote work.
