Cloud Engineer AWS (CDK / Serverless) at Opsbrasil

We are looking for a highly skilled engineer to perform delicate, high-stakes surgery on a live production serverless environment. This is not a greenfield project. You will be tasked with modernizing a complex AWS estate while ensuring zero downtime and maintaining seamless service for active external consumers. Role at a glance

This is a Senior Cloud Engineer position offered on a contractor basis. You will work 100% remotely, coordinating with teams across EST or MST time zones. The engagement is expected to last between six and eight weeks, focusing on the modernization of a critical AWS CDK estate.

Your impact

• Develop and execute a modernization strategy for our CDK estate, including library upgrades and the transition of hardcoded configurations into environment-specific files.
• Consolidate existing stacks into shared constructs while strictly preserving resource identity to prevent unintended infrastructure replacements.
• Execute sequenced deployments with rigorous testing, including the migration of Lambda functions to Node 24 and the implementation of robust CI/CD pipelines with OIDC federation.

What you'll need

We are looking for someone who brings a high level of technical maturity and a methodical approach to infrastructure management. You should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience with AWS, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to infrastructure as code.
• Advanced proficiency in AWS CDK using TypeScript, including a deep understanding of construct trees and logical ID derivation.
• Proven ability to manage CloudFormation resource identity, perform stack refactoring, and utilize drift detection effectively.
• Practical experience with Terraform to bridge the gap between different infrastructure management tools.
• Strong background in AWS serverless technologies, specifically Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Parameter Store, and KMS.
• Expertise in security and edge services like WAF and mTLS, alongside a solid grasp of observability tools like X-Ray and CloudWatch.
• Fluent English skills to facilitate clear communication with our client and their POS team.
