Cloud Architect at Nerdery

We pride ourselves on helping businesses grow and delight their customers through thoughtful, intuitive technology. We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Architect for a full-time, remote position. In this role, you will be more than just a consultant. You will be an ally and guide, solving complex problems across strategy, design, and technology to deliver meaningful value.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures on the Google Cloud Platform while managing the full lifecycle of cloud resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions, including documenting project scopes and creating detailed work plans.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to both client teams and internal staff to foster a culture of innovation and high-quality project delivery.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 5 years specifically in cloud architecture or sales engineering.
• Deep technical proficiency in GCP services, including Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Spanner.
• Expertise in infrastructure automation and management using Terraform, along with strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
• A solid understanding of microservices, containerization with Docker, and API gateways.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and manage client expectations effectively.
• An undergraduate or graduate degree in a computer-related field, a coding bootcamp certificate, or a demonstrated history of self-taught software development.
