We are AQR Capital Management, a global investment firm that bridges the gap between financial theory and real-world application. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Application Developer Vice President to join our team in India on a full-time, on-site basis. You will lead a team of up to 10 developers and report directly to our Head of Cloud Engineering, helping us build and scale robust applications within the AWS ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, highly available application solutions using AWS services.
- Optimize applications specifically for the cloud environment.
- Serve as a technical leader while collaborating with our business, development, and infrastructure teams.
- Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture, design patterns, and software development.
- Advise on and implement AWS best practices across our projects.
- Operate as a specialist in both infrastructure and application development.
- Champion Agile development and DevOps methodologies.
- Implement infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment strategies.
- Construct secure and reliable AWS architectures.
Must-haves
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience in application programming or technical architecture.
- Proven track record of managing a team of developers.
- Extensive experience architecting and programming for AWS within large, highly regulated industries.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Python packaging tools like Conda or Pip.
- Experience with configuration-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Demonstrated success in building highly automated, production-grade infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of web technologies, networking, and Git for version control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science or Engineering.
Nice-to-haves
- A Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience working in mixed Linux and Windows environments.
- Programming proficiency in Java, C#, or Go.
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools like Jenkins or Bamboo.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium or JMeter.
- Expertise in immutability principles and advanced deployment methodologies.
