We provide universities with top-tier technology, streamlined processes, and robust student support to help them thrive in a competitive digital landscape. We are currently looking for a talented professional to join our growing team as we build out our cloud infrastructure.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Application Architect for a full-time position. In this role, you will join a new team of three Cloud Enterprise Architects, where you will focus specifically on application development. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining cloud-native applications, utilizing microservices architecture, and ensuring our systems are scalable, secure, and highly available. This is a hands-on technical role that requires a deep understanding of DevOps practices and a passion for creating efficient, cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage infrastructure as code to ensure our applications remain robust and scalable.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodeDeploy to support canary releases and blue-green deployments.
- Monitor the performance and health of our cloud systems while ensuring all deployments meet strict enterprise security standards and access controls.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- At least 5 years of experience designing and developing applications within an AWS environment.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with experience in custom scripting and SQL queries.
- Extensive background in AWS services, including ECS, Fargate, S3, SQS, and CloudWatch.
- At least 3 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code using AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and container management systems like Kubernetes or AWS ECS.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and Scrum teams.
- An AWS Solution Architecture Professional or AWS DevOps Professional certification is highly preferred.
- A commitment to test-driven development and the ability to mentor team members.
Location
This position is based in North Carolina, though we offer remote work flexibility.
