Civil Engineer at Pacifico Energy Group

TAaKA Engineering is a Tokyo-based consulting firm dedicated to shaping the future of energy. We provide technical support for energy development projects across the United States, working closely with Pacifico Energy LLC. Our portfolio focuses on solar and battery storage, and we are currently expanding into microgrids and data center infrastructure. We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis to lead the design and feasibility assessments for complex power generation systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects, from conducting feasibility studies and site selection to overseeing conceptual and detailed designs for power generation facilities.
• Coordinate with external consultants and internal electrical and mechanical teams to ensure structural integrity, optimize site layouts, and integrate civil structures with power systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with international standards, such as ASCE, UBC, and AASHTO, while managing regulatory constraints and conducting high-level seismic and wind load evaluations.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics, or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of professional experience working on power plants, industrial facilities, or energy infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, along with a strong understanding of structural load calculations and geotechnical assessments.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to lead technical discussions. Proficiency in Japanese is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in early-stage engineering design and technical risk assessment.
