We are currently seeking a Civil Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. Depending on the selection process, the role will be based at one of our offices in Reno, Carson City, Fallon, or South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, or in El Dorado Hills, California.
Key outcomes
- Produce high-quality technical engineering drawings and project designs using CAD Civil 3D software while adhering to established standards.
- Execute planning and analysis tasks using ArcPRO GIS software.
- Manage the preparation of permit applications and final civil design documentation.
- Conduct field and construction site visits to verify quantities, generate reports, and process pay applications.
- Utilize computer modeling software to support water, sewer, and stormwater projects, including the preparation of associated technical reports.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to interns and engineering technicians.
- Support specific project areas including water resources, land development, and transportation infrastructure through detailed planning and design.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or at least two years of relevant AEC experience with a strong background in CAD design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of two years of professional engineering design experience.
- Proficiency in CAD Civil 3D for the creation of site plans, grading plans, utility plans, and plan and profile sheets.
- A foundational understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design standards.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, defined as having three or fewer demerit points.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred qualifications
- Possession of an Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification, having successfully passed the FE exam.
