Welcome to Lumos & Associates. We are a dedicated team of professionals focused on delivering high-quality engineering solutions, and we are looking for a talented individual to join our group. We take pride in our collaborative environment and our commitment to excellence in project planning and design. If you are passionate about civil engineering and want to contribute to meaningful projects, we would love to meet you.
What is this role?
We are searching for a Mid-Level Civil Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an on-site position where you will play a vital role in initiating and creating project designs, plans, and presentations. You will be based out of one of our offices in Reno, Carson City, Fallon, or South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, or El Dorado Hills, California, with the final location determined during the selection process.
What will you do?
- Produce detailed civil design drawings and provide technical drafting support using CAD Civil 3D software.
- Conduct project planning and analysis through ArcPRO GIS software while adhering to our established standards.
- Collaborate with our team to prepare site analysis reports, utility computations, and conceptual grading layouts while mentoring junior staff and interns.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have at least two years of relevant engineering design experience, ideally supported by a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent training. We value candidates who are proficient in CAD Civil 3D and have a solid grasp of grading, drainage, and utility design principles. You should be comfortable working in a dynamic setting, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to solve complex problems with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and you must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. We prefer candidates who have passed their FE exam and are on the path toward professional licensure.
What's in it for you?
We support our team members with a comprehensive benefits package designed to provide security and flexibility. Our offerings for full-time employees include:
- Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage along with life insurance.
- Health Savings Account with employer contributions and a Flexible Spending Account.
- 401(k) plan with a company match.
- Discretionary annual bonus.
- Generous paid time off, paid holidays, and flexible work hours.
