As our CTO, you'll drive the technical strategy and roadmap for our global platform. This includes modernizing our architecture, embedding AI, and tackling complex challenges related to diverse healthcare processes, varied EHR implementations, and fragmented data standards and regulations. You'll lead, mentor, and grow a world-class engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation and ensuring our platform is robust, scalable, and secure. You will also represent Founda as our technology leader externally.

What You'll Do

• Strategic & Team Leadership: Define and execute Founda Health's multi-year technical strategy, aligning it with our mission. Lead, mentor, and grow our engineering team in The Netherlands and India, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Architectural Vision: Drive the design and evolution of our layered global healthcare data availability platform, ensuring simplicity, scalability, security, and reliability. This includes expertise in XDS, FHIR, openEHR/OMOP/CDR, and future-proofing for EHDS and global compliance.
• AI Enablement: Balance rapid AI-driven innovation (e.g., automated data mapping, semantic normalization, real-time inference) with enterprise-grade reliability and compliance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our Product leader to align technical trade-offs with market priorities. Represent Founda externally at conferences and standards bodies (HL7, IHE).
• Operational Excellence & Security: Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring high quality and velocity. Uphold the highest standards of data security, privacy, and global regulatory compliance.
• Innovation & Research: Stay ahead of emerging technologies and healthcare standards (ML/AI, FHIR, HL7, DICOM, SNOMED).

What You'll Bring

• Proven CTO Experience: Or similar senior technology leadership in a Healthcare SaaS or platform company.
• Healthcare Data Expertise: Knowledge of or experience with XDS/XCA, FHIR (v4+), CDR/openEHR/OMOP, and multi-modal clinical data domains.
• Regulatory Savvy: Track record delivering global compliant healthcare platforms. EHDS knowledge is a plus.
• Cloud-Native Thinking: Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure, and observability.
• Strategic Judgment: Financial and technical acumen for "build-vs-partner-vs-buy" decisions, ensuring fast payback and cross-customer reuse.
• Inspirational Leadership: A hands-on visionary who mentors talent, drives cross-team collaboration, and captivates audiences as Founda’s technology ambassador.
