The role
We are seeking a Chief Software Architect to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a senior-level position that requires a seasoned professional with a deep background in defining enterprise-grade software architectures. You will report directly to our CTO and the EVP of Product Development, working alongside a talented, distributed team of architects located in offices across the globe, including London, Sydney, and Bangalore.
Core responsibilities
- Define and implement a unified reference architecture that supports our aggressive business growth and ensures our solutions remain both technically and commercially viable.
- Lead and mentor a focused team of software architects while collaborating with development teams across our international locations.
- Take full accountability for documenting current and future state architectures, managing technical roadmaps, and guiding critical build versus buy decisions.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess at least eight years of commercial experience in delivering complex enterprise software. We value candidates who bring a pragmatic mindset to high-stakes technical challenges.
- Expertise in software design, architectural patterns, and the full software development life cycle.
- Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, cloud technologies, virtualization, and object-oriented analysis and design.
- Deep understanding of system availability, fault tolerance, performance load balancing, and security.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to board-level stakeholders and Fortune 500 customers.
- Proficiency in technical modeling approaches, such as UML and E/R diagrams.
- A degree in computer science or a related numerate field.
Compensation and benefits
The base salary for this position is up to 180,000 USD. We are looking to move quickly and are prepared to conduct interviews immediately for the right candidate.
