Chief of Staff - Engineering at Hatch

What is this role?

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to the VP of Engineering to join us in a full-time, senior-level capacity. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere. You will serve as a strategic thought partner and a force multiplier for our engineering leadership. This role is designed for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical strategy, organizational design, and high-level communication. You will report directly to the VP of Engineering and serve as a key member of the engineering leadership team.

What will you do?

• Build strong relationships across the company to connect engineering priorities with our broader product, design, and marketing strategies.
• Lead and oversee high-impact strategic initiatives while translating complex technical progress into clear narratives for our executive team.
• Drive organizational focus and accountability by managing roadmaps for engineering-led initiatives and ensuring our teams remain aligned on our biggest goals.

What makes you a great fit?

You are a seasoned leader with a background in business operations or a similar Chief of Staff role, ideally within a startup or consulting environment. You possess a blend of technical acumen and sharp analytical thinking, allowing you to engage credibly with engineering teams while keeping the business strategy in focus. We are looking for someone who excels at program management and can independently drive projects to completion. Exceptional communication skills are a must, as you will be responsible for conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
