At Aledade, we are a public benefit corporation dedicated to empowering independent primary care. Since our founding in 2014, we have grown into the largest network of independent primary care practices in the country. Our mission is to transform the healthcare landscape by moving away from traditional fee-for-service models toward value-based care that keeps patients healthy and helps practices thrive. We are looking for passionate, collaborative individuals to join our remote-first culture and help us build a healthcare system that benefits patients, providers, and society as a whole.
The role
We are seeking a Chief of Staff for Engineering to serve as a strategic partner to our Chief Technology Officer. This is a full-time, executive-level position that can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States, or from our office locations in Durham, New York, Austin, or Bethesda. Depending on your specific experience and qualifications, we are open to hiring for this role at a Senior Director level. You will act as a key organizer and problem solver, ensuring that our engineering operations run smoothly while driving critical cross-functional initiatives.
Core responsibilities
- Leadership support: Serve as a primary thought partner to the CTO to identify emerging priorities, manage governance, and ensure clear communication regarding our technical roadmaps and progress across the company.
- Program management: Collaborate with leaders across product, technology, and business teams to plan and execute high-stakes programs, while managing risks and maintaining alignment with our corporate planning groups.
- Engineering operations: Define and maintain operational policies, support employee engagement and development initiatives, and coordinate cross-functional meetings to keep our technology organization connected and effective.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in operational leadership and a commitment to our mission. We require the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, and an MBA or equivalent Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 12 years of professional experience, ideally within large, complex teams.
- Proven experience in a Chief of Staff, client service, or similar operational capacity.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, combined with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong project management capabilities, with a preference for PMP or LEAN certifications.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and presentation to support informed decision-making.
- A results-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while working independently.
Compensation and benefits
We believe in supporting the overall well-being of our team members. Our benefits package includes:
- Flexible work arrangements and remote work options.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- A robust paid time off plan, including 21 days of PTO in your first year, 11 paid holidays, and two paid volunteer days.
- Financial security through a 401k plan with up to a 4% match and stock options.
- Support for family and personal growth, including 12 weeks of paid parental leave and a six-week paid sabbatical after six years of service.
- Opportunities for professional development through our Educational Assistant and Clinical Employee Reimbursement programs.
