Threat Tec, LLC is a veteran-owned business and a recognized leader in operational environment replication and wargaming solutions. We are looking for an experienced Chief Information Security Officer to join our team at our headquarters in Hampton, Virginia, to help us protect our assets and drive innovation for our public and private sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute comprehensive cybersecurity policies and strategies to protect our information assets.
- Direct our cybersecurity programs, focusing on risk management, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance.
- Implement and oversee security technologies designed to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Advise internal stakeholders on industry standards, regulations, and security best practices.
- Perform regular security audits, penetration testing, and assessments to uncover and resolve vulnerabilities.
- Work with cross-functional departments to embed security requirements into our business projects and systems.
- Monitor the evolving threat landscape to proactively strengthen our security posture.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external partners and government agencies regarding security matters and clearance requirements.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, including 5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing cybersecurity programs within complex organizations.
- A deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO, GDPR, and DFARS.
- Technical proficiency in areas including cloud security, network security, application security, encryption, and identity and access management.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
- Familiarity with CMMC requirements and experience securing hybrid Active Directory environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- An active Secret Clearance or higher.
- Fluency in English.

- Hands-on experience conducting penetration testing and formal security audits.
