The role

We are looking for a Chief Architect to join our team in a full-time, executive-level capacity. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will define our technical vision while remaining deeply involved in the code. You will be responsible for the evolution of our technology stack, ensuring our systems are secure, resilient, and capable of handling high-volume, real-time data processing. While we value flexibility, this position requires you to be based in the United States, as we believe in the power of local community and team cohesion.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap that prioritizes security, scalability, and system resilience across our diverse application suite.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, guiding our engineering teams on best practices for microservices, serverless computing, and real-time data pipelines.
• Lead by example through active participation in code reviews, design sessions, and hands-on troubleshooting of complex technical challenges.

Skills and experience

We are seeking a seasoned leader with over 10 years of experience in software engineering, specifically in roles that balance high-level strategy with technical execution. You should possess the following qualifications:

• Deep technical mastery of Java, microservice architectures, and modern cloud-native environments like AWS or GCP.
• Proven expertise in managing data stores, Elastic Search, and Spark, alongside a strong grasp of API strategies.
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code and serverless technologies, with a constant focus on building secure, fault-tolerant systems.
• A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to mentor engineers and clearly communicate complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders at all levels.
