The opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Category Manager to join our team in an on-site capacity. This senior-level role is essential to our growth, as you will work closely with Whole Foods Category Merchants to drive strategic success. You will serve as a key partner in designing analyses, supporting category reviews, and providing the insights needed to strengthen our position in the market. By leveraging data to inform our assortment and promotional strategies, you will play a direct role in advancing our mission while navigating the complexities of the retail landscape.
A day in the life
- You will conduct deep-dive analyses on shopper behavior, pricing, and promotional performance to provide actionable recommendations for category leadership.
- You will manage the creation of monthly and quarterly scorecards, tracking assortment performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
- You will visit stores to review competitive sets and merchandising techniques, using those insights to refine our planograms and maximize revenue.
Who you are
You are a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the retail industry and a genuine passion for our mission. You possess the following qualifications:
- 6 to 8+ years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods Category Management.
- At least 3 years of specific experience working with Whole Foods.
- Expertise in data analysis, including proficiency with scan and panel data, as well as WFM Nielsen portals.
- Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Suite and planogram drawing software.
- Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to present high-impact insights to diverse audiences.
- A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- You must reside in or around Austin, Texas, to be considered for this role.
