We are looking for a talented Senior C++ Software Engineer to join our team in Chicago and help evolve our award-winning WEX order routing management system. Wolverine Execution Services is an independent broker-dealer that specializes in executing equities, options, and futures for institutional investors, and you will play a key role in building everything from our front-end trading applications to our latency-sensitive back-end infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Manage the full development lifecycle of the WEX trading platform.
Collaborate with stakeholders to design, build, and deliver new features in a timely manner.
Translate business requirements into concrete technical designs and iterate based on feedback from peers and advisors.
Identify opportunities to modernize, simplify, and optimize our systems for better usability and scalability.
Stay current with emerging technologies and language features to solve complex technical challenges.

Must-haves

Strong proficiency in modern C++, including standards up to C++20.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
A self-directed approach to managing your own workload and providing accurate project estimates.
Experience with or a willingness to learn our Windows-based development environment, including Visual Studio, Jenkins, SVN, and Git.

Nice-to-haves

Deep knowledge of STL and modern C++ standards.
Experience working with SQL.
Understanding of concepts related to multi-threaded application development.
