Our solutions, including SuperCritical CleanUp, CO₂ CleanUp, and Steel CleanUp, are among the most energy-efficient in the world and are scalable for various applications. We are currently seeking a Business Unit Controller to join our Steel CleanUp team in the Netherlands. In this role, you will serve as a key financial partner, ensuring the accuracy of our administration and providing the insights necessary to drive our sustainable mission forward.
Key outcomes
- Oversee the full financial administration for the business unit, including processing invoices, managing financial transactions, and preparing payment runs.
- Lead month-end closing activities and support the preparation of the annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with department managers to develop budgets and monitor financial performance, proactively identifying and addressing variances.
- Manage cash flow forecasting to support our scale-up phase, ensuring liquidity remains a top priority.
- Develop and maintain management reports that provide clear visibility into our financial health, offering strategic advice to the CFO and other internal stakeholders.
- Drive process optimization to improve the efficiency and reliability of financial reporting, including coordinating with our ERP service provider.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP and manage VAT filings.
Requirements
- A completed HBO degree in a financial or business economics field.
- At least 7 years of experience within a medium-sized enterprise managing financial-administrative systems, general ledger accounting, and closing procedures, or at least 5 years of experience as an RA at an accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP.
- Professional proficiency in both Dutch and English.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- A hands-on, analytical mindset with a passion for optimizing financial processes.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing organization while maintaining a collaborative and optimistic team spirit.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.
- Proven experience in supervising administrative teams and mentoring staff.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and updating standard management reporting frameworks.
