Woodruff Sawyer has stood as a leader in the insurance brokerage industry for over a century. We support a diverse range of clients, from emerging startups to some of the world's most innovative organizations. As an employee-owned company, we focus on building long-term success rather than chasing short-term profits. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where your unique perspective helps drive our collective growth. When you join our team, you gain the opportunity to build real wealth and ownership through our ESOP program, ensuring that you truly own your future.
What is this role?
We are looking for a Business Development Representative, known internally as a Market Growth Specialist, to join us in a full-time, mid-level capacity. This is a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will work closely with our Market Growth Manager to help shape the future of our sales and marketing engine while gaining a deep understanding of the risk advisory and insurance landscape.
What will you do?
- Conduct thorough research on target accounts to identify potential leads and create highly personalized outreach strategies.
- Engage with prospects through various channels, including email, social media, and phone, to provide helpful resources and schedule meetings for our Account Executives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design custom campaigns that effectively move prospects through the sales funnel from initial interest to qualified leads.
What makes you a great fit?
You are a proactive communicator who thrives on building meaningful relationships rather than just making cold calls. You possess high emotional intelligence, a curious mindset, and the ability to think creatively when navigating complex business situations. We value candidates who are highly organized and action-oriented.
Required qualifications include:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Fluency in English.
- A willingness to obtain a Property and Casualty insurance license within 90 days of your start date.
- Experience with modern business development tools, such as Salesforce, HubSpot, and ZoomInfo, is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a B2B environment, the insurance sector, or working with C-suite executives is a plus.
What's in it for you?
The anticipated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $97,000, depending on your specific expertise and location. You will also be eligible for an incentive program based on performance.
Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401k retirement plan and equity compensation through our employee ownership program.
- Life and disability insurance.
- Generous paid time off.
- Opportunities for professional development.
- Flexible work hours and a hybrid work environment.
