Are you ready to challenge the status quo and help us redefine how technology serves the Australian government? At Macquarie Technology Group, we are growing rapidly because we refuse to settle for the industry standard. We are a team of hardworking, results-oriented professionals who take pride in protecting over 42 percent of Australian government agencies from cyber threats. We have been recognized as a Great Place to Work for three consecutive years and hold the highest Net Promoter Score on the ASX, and we are looking for a passionate individual to join our mission-driven team.
What you bring
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Government Sales team on a full-time, hybrid basis. Based in Canberra, you will spend three days a week in our office collaborating with colleagues and the remaining time working from home. You will be responsible for driving new customer acquisition and managing relationships within the Defence and Defence industry sectors. Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing and closing new business opportunities while managing a portfolio of named Federal Government agencies.
- Identifying unique customer needs and partnering with our technical and engineering teams to design and present high-impact solutions.
- Managing your end-to-end sales process, pipeline, and forecasts through our CRM system.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for the required security clearance. We are looking for a candidate with at least five years of direct, successful technology sales experience and a proven track record of exceeding quotas. You should possess strong commercial acumen, exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, and the ability to influence senior executives like CIOs and CEOs. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and familiarity with recognized sales methodologies are considered highly desirable assets. We value individuals who are proactive, capable of solving complex problems, and skilled at building long-term, trust-based relationships.
What we offer
We are committed to investing in your professional growth through Gallup strengths-based training, defined career pathways, and internal mobility opportunities. We offer a supportive, dynamic environment where your insights are valued and your contributions make a tangible impact. Our benefits include:
- A flexible hybrid work arrangement.
- Opportunities to work with a globally recognized, award-winning team.
- A collaborative culture that celebrates success and prioritizes meaningful work.
How to Apply
If you are a driven sales professional who thrives on hunting for new opportunities and delivering real value to government clients, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application by the close of business on Tuesday, 23rd of December, to ensure it is reviewed before our holiday shutdown period.
