We are currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to spearhead the growth of Cerba Xpert within the United States. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for expanding our footprint in the diagnostics and in vitro diagnostics (IVD) sectors by positioning our scientific, regulatory, and operational expertise as a premier solution for our clients. Cerba Research is dedicated to excellence in clinical diagnostics, and this role is pivotal in driving our long-term success by building sustainable partnerships and securing high-value opportunities across the country.
Key outcomes
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and closing strategic partnerships with diagnostic and IVD companies.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to the US market.
- Lead sophisticated commercial negotiations and contract structuring to ensure long-term profitability.
- Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with scientific, regulatory, and executive stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance to clients by aligning our capabilities with their specific diagnostic development and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends, including advancements in molecular diagnostics and AI-enabled testing, to identify new growth opportunities.
- Collaborate across internal departments, including Scientific Affairs, Regulatory, and Operations, to deliver high-quality proposals and successful bid defenses.
- Maintain rigorous pipeline management and accurate forecasting through our CRM systems.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field.
- Extensive experience in business development, sales, or commercial leadership within the diagnostics, IVD, or life sciences services industries.
- A proven track record of successfully closing complex, high-value commercial agreements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IVD development lifecycles, assay validation, and regulatory pathways such as FDA 510(k) and IVD-R.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and strategic planning abilities.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English with both scientific and executive-level audiences.
Preferred qualifications
- An advanced degree in a relevant scientific or business discipline.
- Direct experience selling diagnostic development, validation, or regulatory-enabling services.
- A professional background within diagnostic-focused CRO or CDMO environments.
- Experience working within global or highly matrixed organizational structures.
