Business Control Officer at Nubank

We are currently looking for a Senior Business Control Officer to join our team in Mexico on a full-time, on-site basis. At Nubank, we are focused on global expansion and continuous innovation, which requires us to maintain a robust internal control landscape. To support our growth, we have established the Business Control Office within our Product Chapter. This team serves as a critical link between our business objectives and our risk management framework, ensuring that we scale effectively while proactively addressing potential process failures, data issues, or product risks.

Key outcomes

• Coordinate and support the business in executing first-line risk management activities.
• Identify emerging risk areas and lead the necessary remediation efforts.
• Develop and maintain governance structures to monitor the effectiveness of our controls.
• Assess and define our overall risk environment.
• Evaluate the design of existing controls and implement new measures where necessary.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for leadership to provide visibility into our risk profile.
• Integrate a risk-based perspective into our product development and long-term strategy.
• Manage documentation processes to reduce operational dependencies.
• Perform detailed process mapping to streamline business functions.
• Oversee audit activities by reviewing and challenging both internal business practices and audit findings.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Product management or Risk Management.
• Strong proficiency in Process Mapping, Audit, and Governance.
• Demonstrated ability in Strategy Development and technical Documentation.
• High level of independence and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all levels of an organization.
• A proactive mindset focused on challenging the status quo and prioritizing effectively.
• Fluency in English.
