With a team of over 3,000 experts across North America and as part of the global ALTEN Group, we support the entire product development cycle for leaders in aerospace, robotics, and automotive industries. We are looking for a Senior Brake Validation Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute certification tests and DVP-R procedures using advanced data acquisition systems.
- Perform subjective driving evaluations, including ride, steering, and limit handling, with a focus on operating vehicles in extreme conditions like ice.
- Set up testing equipment and manage post-test data processing to ensure accurate validation.
- Utilize CANanalyzer and diagnostic tools, such as CDA, to troubleshoot and analyze technical data.
- Support the integration and calibration of stability, traction, and brake control systems.
- Contribute to the design, release, and validation of various brake components.
- Apply structured problem-solving methods to resolve technical challenges.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to meet safety, performance, and certification standards.
Must-haves
- Expertise in subjective driving evaluations, including handling vehicles in challenging environments like ice.
- Hands-on experience with DVP-R, certification testing, and data acquisition systems.
- Proficiency with CANanalyzer and diagnostic tools like CDA.
- Ability to travel for testing trips between 10% and 50% of the time and availability for overtime.
- Strong adaptability and a proactive mindset to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with the calibration and integration of traction, brake, and stability functions.
- Background in the design and release of brake components.
- Knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques such as DFSS, Shainin, or Red X.
- Formal training in Design for Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with INCA and methodologies like SFMEA, DFMEA, or DVP-R.
