What you bring
We are seeking a Senior BI Engineer to join our team on a contractor basis. In this role, you will lead the analytics and reporting workstream for a major AWS data platform modernization project. You will work remotely from anywhere, utilizing your skills in Engineering, Analytics, and Consulting to deliver scalable solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing and building executive-level dashboards that track critical business and operational performance metrics.
- Migrating legacy Power BI workloads to Amazon QuickSight while optimizing semantic datasets and performance.
- Partnering with our data engineering team to define standardized enterprise KPIs and robust semantic layers.
Requirements
To succeed in this position, you should have at least five years of experience in business intelligence or analytics engineering. We are looking for a candidate with deep technical proficiency in SQL, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon S3, alongside a mastery of Amazon QuickSight. You should be comfortable with dimensional data modeling and have a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable data stories. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with stakeholders to refine reporting standards and governance. Familiarity with Git for version control is expected, and holding an AWS certification is considered a valuable asset.
