Backend Software Engineer at Next Insurance

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a Full Time basis. In this role, you will be at the heart of our technical operations, building high-quality, scalable solutions that directly impact our users. You will work in a fast-paced environment where we prioritize clean, testable code and frequent production deployments through our CI/CD pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of features, guiding them from initial design and development through to a high-quality production release.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with our Product, Marketing, and Front-end engineering teams to solve complex challenges and iterate on our platform.
• Write efficient, maintainable code using server-side Kotlin and other modern backend technologies to support our growing infrastructure.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend development, specifically with Java, Kotlin, or similar languages like Python or .NET.
• A B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• Strong command of OOP principles and industry best practices.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and solid SQL proficiency.
• Experience working within cloud-based, distributed environments, with AWS knowledge being particularly valuable.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to learn new technologies quickly and communicate effectively within a dynamic team.

Location

This position is based in Israel and requires an on-site presence.
