Backend Software Engineer at WeaveGrid

The role

We are looking for a mid-level Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position where you will help design, implement, and deploy the software that powers our electric vehicle charging SaaS products. Whether you are working remotely or from our San Francisco office, you will play a vital role in managing charging data and optimizing energy plans for our utility partners.

Core responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, high-quality code within our Python-based microservice architecture.
• Manage the full software lifecycle, including production rollouts, instrumentation, and monitoring in our AWS cloud environment.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders and fellow engineers to build new features from scratch and improve the scalability of our existing systems using Docker and Kubernetes.

Skills and experience

We value engineers who are passionate about solving real-world technical problems and contributing to climate solutions. You should have 3 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience or a degree in a related field. Proficiency in Python is required, along with a strong interest in building cloud-based microservices. You should be comfortable working across the entire development process, from initial design and testing to production deployment and post-launch iteration. Strong English communication skills are essential for collaborating with our team.

Compensation and benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $160,000. In addition to your base pay, you will receive stock options as part of your equity package. We also provide the flexibility of hybrid work to support a healthy work-life balance.
