Backend Software Engineer at HealthTensor

We are Regard, the creators of the world's first comprehensive, automated diagnosis tool designed to improve hospital finances, patient safety, and physician satisfaction. We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our team and help us transform one of the most complex industries in the world through mission-oriented, innovative technology.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside product and design teams to build features that balance technical quality, user experience, and business objectives.
• Develop new capabilities independently while receiving mentorship and support from our senior engineering staff.
• Proactively maintain and improve our backend codebase by identifying areas for optimization and proposing long-term technical improvements.
• Manage operational duties, including monitoring, production support, and participating in on-call rotations.
• Contribute to various parts of our technology stack, including infrastructure and AWS-related tasks.

Must-haves

• A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development, with a preference for Python proficiency.
• The ability to participate in on-call operational support for your assigned areas.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 weeks per year for company retreats and co-working sessions.
• Current authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Residency or the ability to relocate to the New York City metro area, as we value in-person collaboration 1 to 2 days per week.

Nice-to-haves

• Practical experience with AWS services, Kubernetes, and OpenAI integrations.
• A background working on mature, enterprise-level SaaS products.
• Previous experience in high-growth startup environments.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
