At Hadrian, we are on a mission to manufacture the future by building autonomous factories. We empower aerospace and defense companies to produce rockets, jets, and satellites at ten times the speed and half the cost of traditional methods. With over $200 million in funding from top-tier investors like Lux Capital, A16Z, and Founders Fund, we are scaling our team to build the critical infrastructure that supports our nation and advances humanity. We are looking for passionate individuals to join us in creating the factory platform of the future.
The role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join us on a full-time, on-site basis at our factory in Torrance, California. This is a foundational role where you will help shape the architecture of our FactoryOS, known as Flow. You will work alongside a diverse group of engineers, operators, and world-class machinists to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment. While we operate in the aerospace and defense space, you do not need prior experience in these industries to succeed here.
Core responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and deploy critical software applications that directly drive revenue and operational efficiency.
- Develop robust and reliable backend systems that power our factory operations and customer-facing interfaces.
- Collaborate directly with internal teams and external customers to define and execute our technical roadmap.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Extensive experience shipping modern, reliable backend applications using Go, Python, or Node.
- A hacker mentality, characterized by a drive to solve problems independently and the ability to reverse engineer systems to maximize performance.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to various stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to taking ownership of projects and finding innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Ability to work on-site at our Los Angeles factory.
- Please note that due to ITAR regulations, you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by U.S. law.
Compensation and benefits
The target salary range for this position is $150,000 to $275,000. Your specific placement within this range will depend on your experience, qualifications, and performance. In addition to your salary, we provide the following:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our long-term success.
- 100% coverage of platinum medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
- 401k retirement savings options.
- Relocation assistance if you are moving to the Los Angeles area.
- A flexible vacation policy.
How to apply
If you are excited about building the future of manufacturing and want to tackle high-stakes engineering challenges, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to be considered for this position, and our team will reach out if your background aligns with our current needs.
