Backend Software Engineer at Rhombus-systems

What is this role?

We are searching for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Sacramento, California. This is an ideal role for an experienced developer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding our cloud-based product features, working closely with our UI teams to manage data, and contributing to the evolution of our analytics pipeline within our micro-services architecture.

What will you do?

• Design and develop scalable micro-services that are optimized to handle diverse workloads effectively.
• Build innovative, bandwidth-friendly algorithms to collect, report, and react to real-time events generated by edge devices and sensors.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver high-quality APIs that handle both incoming and outgoing data streams.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of enterprise development experience using Java.
• Proven experience building micro-service infrastructures using HTTP APIs.
• Familiarity with the Spring framework and AWS cloud infrastructure, including tools like DynamoDB and Kinesis.
• The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment where requirements and priorities can shift quickly.
• Proficiency in English.
