Backend Software Engineer at CommentSold

The role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position available to candidates located anywhere. You will be an integral part of our growing technical organization, where you will tackle complex product challenges and help us scale our systems to meet the demands of a fast-paced market.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and maintain new microservices while enhancing our core web application to solve diverse technical challenges.
• Address issues from both a backend architecture perspective and a customer-facing functional standpoint.
• Collaborate closely with the product team to drive implementation and gain a deep, comprehensive understanding of our platform.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and technical expertise:

• Strong proficiency with the AWS serverless stack, including services like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, and DynamoDB.
• Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, CDK, SAM, or the Serverless Framework.
• Experience managing deployment pipelines with Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• A solid background in monitoring and alerting using Datadog, Sentry, or CloudWatch.
• Previous experience working on high-scale, rapidly growing SaaS web applications.
• Comfort working in a pragmatic, fast-paced environment where you can integrate backend services with legacy code and front-end components.
• Proven ability to thrive as a member of a distributed, remote team.
• Fluency in English.
