Since 2016, Rhombus has been dedicated to making the world a safer place through our centralized platform that integrates intelligent cameras, sensors, and AI analytics. We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity, helping us scale our physical security solutions that are currently making a meaningful impact for organizations globally.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable micro-services to support our growing workloads.
- Develop cloud-based architectures and bandwidth-efficient algorithms to process real-time events from edge devices and sensors.
- Collaborate across engineering teams to create and maintain high-quality APIs for data management and exposure.
- Utilize technologies like Spring, NoSQL databases, and real-time data pipelines to deliver features that provide tangible value to our customers.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of professional enterprise development experience using Java.
- Proven experience working with micro-service infrastructures and HTTP APIs.
- The ability to work independently as a self-starter who is comfortable making decisions with minimal oversight.
- A fast, efficient approach to development with the ability to quickly implement new features.
- A naturally curious mindset and a willingness to ask questions to better understand our systems.
- The ability to commute to our Sacramento, CA office 2-3 times per week.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with the Spring framework.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including services such as DynamoDB and Kinesis.
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $145,000.
