What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Spain. This is a key position for someone who enjoys building scalable, high-performance systems. You will work alongside our backend and DevOps teams to design and maintain the robust APIs and domain models that form the backbone of our identity verification platform.
What will you do?
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design and build high-performance, scalable backend services.
- Develop and maintain secure, efficient APIs while optimizing database performance across SQL and NoSQL models.
- Take full ownership of the development lifecycle, from initial architecture and design through to deployment, testing, and production support.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in backend development. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment and who communicates effectively in English. Your technical toolkit should include the following:
- Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin and the Spring Framework.
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud services and distributed systems architecture.
- Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- A solid understanding of observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Experience with identity management or fintech systems is a significant plus.
