Backend Software Engineer, Trading Infrastructure at SFOX

At sFOX, we operate as a comprehensive prime dealer that aggregates liquidity from more than 30 exchanges and over-the-counter desks into a single, streamlined platform. Since our founding in 2014, we have built a platform that utilizes smart order routing to secure competitive pricing and minimize slippage. Backed by prominent investors such as Social Capital, Digital Currency Group, and Y Combinator, we are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our remote-first team and help us scale our trading infrastructure.

Key outcomes

• Enhance the functionality and speed of our trading infrastructure by developing new algorithms, integrating exchanges, and optimizing system performance.
• Collaborate closely with our CTO office to shape our technical architecture and long-term product roadmap.
• Partner with our Product Management team to define project requirements, execute feature development, and ensure robust testing.
• Develop a deep, expert-level understanding of our entire trading ecosystem and its associated services.
• Apply advanced deductive reasoning to resolve complex technical challenges that span across our distributed systems.

Requirements

• Between 8 and 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with proficiency in Golang, C#, or Java.
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing high-performance, low-latency distributed trading systems within either traditional finance or the cryptocurrency sector.
• Comprehensive knowledge of order types, routing mechanisms, exchange management, and systems performance.
• A self-starting mindset with the ability to own projects from the initial concept through to final delivery and maintenance.
• A strong commitment to code quality, security, and the end-user experience, prioritizing reliable execution over the use of trendy technologies.
• Professional fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

• A genuine interest in blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency market.
• Experience with data manipulation using SQL and Snowflake.
