Backend Software Engineer Senior at Swile

What you'll be doing

• You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality, efficient, and well-tested code while proactively improving the technical standards and overall quality of our engineering team.
• You will lead complex projects and collaborate on architectural discussions, ensuring our systems remain stable, performant, and secure as we scale our global platforms.
• You will act as a technical mentor for other team members, conducting thorough code reviews and helping to evolve our internal tools, APIs, and microservices.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in software engineering and a collaborative mindset. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional experience working with Java or Kotlin.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, relational and non-relational databases, and messaging tools like Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
• Advanced or fluent proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate clearly in Portuguese as well.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers is considered a plus.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
